Am I glad I did all those years ago??… Yes of course I am, over the coming months, I will try to bring my Thailand to you…
What can you expect from a visit to Thailand???
Beaches to lose yourself on...
Some of the best beaches in the world and an early morning stroll when everyone is just waking up…For me the best time of the day…Uninterrupted bliss!
The sun rising, trying to spread its tentacles, soon it will be hot, unrelenting, no respite until the sun goes down I still think this is the best time of the day when the world is waking from its nighttime slumbers.
Young men, hair tousled from sleep climbing into the back of the waiting pick up trucks a sight I am getting used to seeing…The birds their tweeting magnified or maybe they just trilled a little louder to celebrate a new day here in the land of smiles.
Kids off to school, some excitedly chattering, some still sleepy, boarding houses and hotels are just waking, steps being washed, paths swept. The sound of pots and plates clattering, cutlery clanking, tables being laid in preparation for breakfast. Smells starting to emerge, lingering on the light breeze tempting all who pass by.
Most definitely my favourite time of the day.
Monks are strolling collecting their alms..gifts of food and money…people dropping to their knees to be blessed…devotion laid bare.
Beautiful fruit carvings which grace a lot of tables from the most humble roadside restaurant to the shirt and shoe type establishment… All you need is a creative chef.
Festivals…Thais love a festival…firecrackers galore…I have got over my ingrained years of health & safety…lol..but I still enjoy at a safe distance…
Do you like this taste of Thailand?
There is so much more and I will be bringing this to you over the coming months the places I love some of which are not in the tourist guides…The beautiful temples, traditions, festivals, unusual foods, my favourite beaches…This is just a little taste, a teaser if you like…
